Sneak Peak: Early Look at a New Carbon Fiber Intake System for the ’18-’24 Aston Martin Vantage

One of the things we enjoy most at VelocityAP is identifying areas where enthusiasts want something better and then taking the time to engineer a solution the right way. That is exactly what led to our newest project currently in development for the 2018 to 2024 Aston Martin Vantage platform.

We believe there is a major gap in the market for these cars when it comes to a truly high-quality carbon fiber intake system offered at a competitive price point. Owners want the visual impact, the enhanced induction sound and the performance benefits, but they also want something that installs and fits like it belongs on the car from the factory.

Recently, August Luxury Motorcars in Kelowna, British Columbia Canada had their Vantage in our facility for upgrades, and we took the opportunity to fully 3D scan the critical engine bay components and surrounding areas.

From there, Chris, our Technical Director, has invested a tremendous amount of time into the engineering and 3D modeling side of this project. We wanted to create something that genuinely feels OEM in its fit and finish while still delivering the aggressive induction sound and visual presence enthusiasts are looking for.

A major part of the design process has been ensuring the intake retains proper cold air routing directly from the factory grille ducting, rather than sacrificing functionality purely for appearance.

We are excited to share that we have now completed the full 3D printing and verification phase of development. After extensive test fitting and validation, the design has officially been approved to move into the full carbon fiber prototype stage.

There is still work ahead before production begins, but we wanted to bring everyone along for the process and offer a real behind the scenes look at what goes into developing a product like this properly.

We are still approximately 6 months away from final release, but development is progressing exactly as planned and we are excited to continue sharing updates, prototype previews and testing results as we move closer toward production.

Be on the lookout for more details coming soon across our different social media platforms and website. We will post a link to pre-orders when available.
